We hope that you’ve all hunkered down in your sandwich bread and milk fortresses because it’s still cold and snowy outside. Even though the roads are much better than they were this morning when some of us had to go to work (oh, how we envy you who have jobs that tell you to stay home when it’s kinda snowy outside), the city is on lockdown. Our friends at Nashvillest have the full deets on what’s closed today, but we wanted to alert y’all to two things:
A) Mercy Lounge is pushing back its 8 Off 8th until Friday. So, if you want to see Diarrhea Planet mangle what used to be The Man Who Sold the World (or whatever) along with Heavy Cream, Big Surr, Milktooth and some others, you’ll have to hold your horses for another couple of days. If you’re going to Guided by Voices, maybe you can hop between the two. We dunno. One of us is going to be downstairs and won’t be moving an inch towards the stairs. We’ll let you guess who.
B) In case you’re feeling dangerous, there’s a city-wide snowball fight going down in about a hour and a half. The West End side of Centennial Park. Be there. Last time this happened, a beer truck turned ’round! Drunk and throwing snowballs at each other? Hells yeah, we’re in!
